This article will attempt to explain some of the new challenges the fire sprinkler industry faces with the continued advancement of automation in warehouses with a specific emphasis on automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). Automated warehouses are the latest challenge in fire protection, and in many ways automation technology is outpacing fire protection technology.
